Schedules

Luthercare for Kids in Reamstown offers the following classrooms:

Infants for 6 weeks to approximately 15 months
Younger and Older toddlers for 15 months to approximately 36 months
Preschool for 3 and 4 year olds
Pre-Kindergarten for children who will go to Kindergarten the following year
School age care for kindergarten and young school age

Each classroom establishes a daily schedule that may vary from year to year. In general all children follow a daily schedule including morning and afternoon snacks, self-directed discovery in learning centers, socialization, two periods of daily physical activity, thoughtful learning activities, and small or large group learning as appropriate. Younger children are offered a rest time as needed and infant classrooms include naps each day.

Sample Pre-Kindergarten Schedule:

6:30-8:00 Arrival & free play
8:30-10:00 Self-directed discovery in learning centers
10:00-10:20 Group time
10:20-11:00 Teacher-led activity such as literacy game, art or science activity related to the weekly unit of study
11:00-12:00 Outdoor experiences or large motor games inside
12:00-12:30 Lunch
12:30-1:00 Toileting & Book Buddy time
1:00-3:00 Rest time with quiet activities for awake children
3:00-3:30 Snack
3:30-4:10 Outdoor experiences
4:10-5:30 Free play in learning centers & departure
